Patient Liason Officer Program

Welcome to the Patient Liaison Officer Website

To assist the patients of the USAFE 52 Fighter Wing (Spangdahlem) and the 470 Air Base Squadron (Geilenkirchen) in receiving outstanding care at the Host Nation Facilities, the 52 FW and 470 ABS have provided Patient Liaison Officers (PLOs), contracted via ASPEN.

The PLOs are fluent in English and German. In addition, the PLOs in Geilenkirchen are also fluent in Dutch, since several HNFs are located in the Netherlands.
The PLOs are familiar with medical terminology as well as with the German and Dutch healthcare systems and German and Dutch culture and customs. They will assist you in communication with the staff and help you get a clear understanding of your diagnosis, treatment, medication and medical recommendations.

If you have issues, concerns, questions or need assistance while you are in the hospital, you can contact your PLO 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
